Tinubu’s Airport Address in Jos Exposes Lack of Compassionate Leadership
Leadership without compassion is not leadership. On his recent tour of Benue State, the president visited the Government House but did not go to the sites where lives were lost. Yesterday in Jos, he ended his engagement at the airport instead of meeting the affected communities. True leadership demands presence, empathy and a willingness to stand with people in their pain. Addressing bereaved families from an airport tarmac feels distant and inadequate. It deepens their sense of abandonment after cycles of violence without protection or justice. Plateau State deserves more than distant words. It needs urgent action and a clear plan to end insecurity. Leadership must be present, responsive and responsible. If we want a better Nigeria, we must demand it. A new Nigeria is possible.
