OTL Urges IGP to Suspend Enforcement of Disputed Lagos Property Judgment
Ojukwu Transport Limited has written to the Inspector-General of Police, urging him to suspend any enforcement of a 2022 Lagos land judgment that is currently on appeal. The firm warns that executing the warrant again would be unlawful while appellate proceedings continue. The company says the properties in Ikoyi and Yaba were lawfully seized under a separate 2018 judgment and fully executed with police and sheriff involvement. It recalls a May 2025 incident when Zone 2 police allegedly re-entered one of the Ikoyi properties on misleading information. OTL notes that a Form 49 contempt hearing in Suit No. LD/1539/2012 was adjourned after the case file was unavailable and may have been transmitted to the Court of Appeal. A new date is set for June 22, 2026. The firm appeals to the IGP to prevent what it calls a repeat execution and renews its demand for the release of all seized property until all outstanding legal issues are resolved.
