Mexican Security Arrests US-Wanted Nephew of ‘El Chapo’ Near Sonora Border

Mexican authorities arrested Isai N, nephew of jailed Sinaloa cartel leader Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, on May 26 near the Sonora-US border. Security forces detained him during an operation targeting organised crime. Omar García Harfuch, one of Mexico’s top security officials, announced the arrest on social media, noting that Isai N is also wanted by US authorities. The operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks linked to the Sinaloa Cartel. El Chapo is serving a life sentence in the United States for multiple drug trafficking convictions.
