Atiku Leads ADC Presidential Primaries with Over 1.39 Million Votes as Collation Pauses
Atiku Abubakar extended his lead in the African Democratic Congress presidential primaries after collation from 25 states and the FCT. He polled 1,390,276 votes, while Rotimi Amaechi scored 248,455 and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen garnered 156,075. The party adjourned nationwide collation on Tuesday night and will resume at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Both Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen rejected the exercise, citing alleged irregularities and voter disenfranchisement during Monday’s state primaries. Atiku dominated several northern states, including Adamawa, Kano and Gombe. Amaechi recorded wins in Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi, while Hayatu-Deen’s best performances came in Borno and Benue.
