Raising Children in God’s Way: Biblical Parenting Principles

Proverbs 22:6 calls us to train our children in the way they should go according to God’s Word, not cultural trends or personal preferences. This divine standard guides them into a lifelong relationship with Him. Without proper spiritual training, young hearts can drift away, as Romans 1:28 warns. Discipline, grounded in love and consistency, curbs foolishness: “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction drives it far from him” (Proverbs 22:15). By insisting on Scripture as your family’s foundation, you’re not being harsh—you’re obeying God. That obedience becomes your child’s internal compass, ensuring they won’t depart from the path when they grow older. Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for Your wisdom and grace as I train my children in Your ways. May they walk in Your truth all their days, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Ephesians 6:4; 2 Timothy 3:14-15; Deuteronomy 6:6-7 Bible Reading Plans: Acts 15:22-35; Esther 5-7; 2 Corinthians 11:10-33; Isaiah 20

It seems relying solely on scripture might overlook individual children's learning styles and personal needs over time.

I'm not convinced strict adherence to Proverbs 22:6 prevents drifting away; relationship quality often matters more than doctrine memorization.
