47-Year-Old Nigerian Arrested in Mauritius After Swallowing 61 Drug Pellets

A 47-year-old Nigerian man was arrested at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport in Mauritius after customs officers discovered 61 drug pellets he had swallowed. Authorities recovered 51 cocaine pellets and 10 cannabis pellets following a medical purge. Officers also seized the suspect’s checked luggage, a small handbag, three mobile phones, passport, hotel reservation, and more than USD 1,750 alongside NGN 20,000. He has been handed over to local police as an investigation continues into the full circumstances of the smuggling attempt.
