Governor Umo Eno Welcomes Late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s Remains at Uyo Airport

Governor Umo Eno Welcomes Late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai’s Remains at Uyo Airport — 1 of 4
1 / 4

I received the remains of the late Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai at Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo. He was a devoted servant of God whose ministry impacted many lives. On behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, I paid my respects and joined in receiving his body as we honour his legacy. The Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, a non-denominational ministry, is based in Uyo. The final photo shows Governor Eno celebrating Dr. Ukpai’s 80th birthday, reflecting the deep bond between the state leadership and this great evangelist.

It's notable that the governor personally welcomed the remains, but I wonder how often such ceremonial duties impact long-term community development.

Perhaps local organizations can coordinate memorial services and community outreach to honor Rev. Uma Ukpai's legacy beyond the airport reception.
