Tinubu Vows Never to Yield to Terrorists, Pledges Economic Relief
At the National Inter-Denominational Church Service in Abuja, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation delivered President Tinubu’s message on democracy and national unity. Tinubu celebrated 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule and honored the sacrifices of June 12 activists. He also acknowledged the economic hardships and security threats—kidnappings, banditry and displacement—that many Nigerians face. He assured citizens that the government will intensify efforts to strengthen security agencies, secure communities and protect lives and property. “The government of Nigeria shall never succumb to terror, banditry or any form of criminal intimidation,” he declared. With 2027 elections approaching, Tinubu urged Nigerians—especially young people—to reject violence, disinformation and divisive rhetoric. He called on religious leaders, traditional institutions, civil society and families to promote unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
