Stop Criticising Wike or Face Expulsion, PDP’s Doherty Warns Bode George
The National Vice Chairman of PDP South-West, Adedeji Doherty, has issued a stark warning to former Deputy National Chairman Chief Bode George. He urged George to stop denouncing the party’s national leader and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike or risk expulsion from his ward and local government in Lagos State. Doherty praised the recent Supreme Court decision affirming the party’s position. He said the PDP will now “wield its big stick” against any member acting as a spoiler and will not hesitate to enforce discipline. He also criticised Governor Seyi Makinde for holding a South-West convention outside the party’s statutory framework and likened the move to a divisive tactic. Doherty argued that genuine reconciliation should have taken place after the Appeal Court judgement rather than rushing to the Supreme Court. Dismissing comments by a former party leader on the appeal process, Doherty insisted the apex court has ended the so-called factionalisation. Despite recent defections, he remained optimistic that each legal victory brightens the party’s outlook.
