FG and Enugu State Set to Launch Direct China–Enugu Cargo Service by December — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Federal Government and Enugu State are working to start direct cargo flights between Guangzhou, China, and Enugu before the end of the year. Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo said Enugu International Airport has moved to a privately run model. The change aims to unlock the airport’s full economic potential and establish it as a cargo hub for the Southeast. Negotiations are under way to schedule twice-weekly flights. Traders in Onitsha, Aba and beyond will soon consolidate goods in China and receive direct delivery into Enugu. Since July 2025, Enugu Air has doubled its fleet. It plans new regional routes and long-haul services by year end to boost Nigeria’s multimodal transport network.
