Ajiran Community Demands Release of Lexus 600 and Case Documents in Peaceful SCID Panti Protest

Ajiran Community Demands Release of Lexus 600 and Case Documents in Peaceful SCID Panti Protest

Members of the Ajiran Community in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State gathered at the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Panti, in a peaceful protest. They demand the immediate return of a Lexus 600 SUV belonging to Hammed Tajudeen Akanbi. They also insist on receiving certified true copies of his investigation report and case file. According to community representatives, counsel Adedotun Ajulo, Esq., informed them that police have withheld the vehicle despite its irrelevance to the allegation. The protesters allege the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dayo Akinbisehin, is collaborating with interested parties to suppress evidence. The community presented a seven-day ultimatum letter demanding the release of the vehicle and documents. Officers at SCID assured the group that their demands would be addressed. The protest passed without incident or breakdown of law and order.

What do you think could influence SCID Panti to release the Lexus 600 and related case documents so quickly?

Could a looming court order or public outcry really push SCID Panti to fast-track those files?

It's interesting they chose a peaceful protest, but will that really push law enforcement to hand over evidence or vehicle anytime soon?

I no dey convinced say SCID Panti go simply hand over the Lexus without proper legal process first.

Filing a formal motion in court might be faster than protesting at SCID Panti if they want a legally binding release order.
