Seeking God Beyond Material Blessings

This devotional reflects on why faith should be rooted in a genuine desire to know God, not merely in the hope of financial gain. Scripture teaches that prosperity is not the ultimate proof of God’s approval, just as financial hardship does not mean that God has abandoned a person. God created a world of provision before Adam arrived. This shows that wealth is a resource, not the reward for righteousness. Christianity is not a transaction in which we serve God only to receive material blessings. It is a relationship built on love, faith and devotion. God blesses His children, but His presence remains the greatest treasure. We should examine our motives, remain steadfast during financial challenges, and seek God for who He is rather than only for what He can provide. Prayer: Father, purify my motives and help me seek You above earthly blessings. Teach me to treasure Your presence above wealth, success and possessions. Amen.
