Nigerian Inmate Flees Prison Van in Woolwich, London Police Launch Manhunt
Police in southeast London are searching for 25-year-old Temitope Segun after he escaped custody on Monday evening. The Nigerian national bolted from a private transport vehicle while being moved from Bromley Magistrates Court to HMP Thameside. Authorities say Segun assaulted a guard before fleeing near Woolwich High Street around 6:40pm. He was wearing a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers, and is believed to have connections to Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Woolwich. Detective Sergeant Claudine Manning urged the public not to approach him but to call 999 immediately if he is spotted. The private contractor responsible for the transfer is investigating the incident.
