Lafarge Africa’s Q1 Profit Doubles to N97.9bn on Strong Sales Growth
Lafarge Africa reported a 101% jump in profit after tax to N97.95bn in Q1 2026, up from N48.64bn in the same period last year. Revenue climbed 35% to N334.88bn as demand improved and operations ran more efficiently. The company’s operating profit rose 97% to N141bn, driven by higher volumes, better plant stability and streamlined distribution. Management credited disciplined cost control, supply assurance and a stronger route-to-market strategy for the margin gains despite challenging conditions. Looking ahead, the firm plans to leverage its partnership with Huaxin Building Materials Ltd to optimise operations. It will maintain tight cost management and capital deployment to seize infrastructure and construction opportunities as economic fundamentals improve.
