Ogun State Prepares to Host 2026 Ogun Women Run
The Ogun State Government has confirmed its readiness to host the fourth edition of the Ogun Women Run on April 11, 2026, in Abeokuta. The 5 km race celebrates women and promotes healthy living across the state. Commissioner for Sports Development Hon. Wasiu Isiaka welcomed organisers to his office. Mrs. Yetunde Johnson of Brussel Sports Management thanked the government for its ongoing support. She also announced new partnerships with the National Sports Commission and private sector backers for the next edition. Isiaka praised the race as a strong platform for women’s participation in sports. He highlighted Ogun’s growing reputation for major events, including the 2025 National Sports Festival and upcoming continental athletics and para games. Organisers promise the 2026 race will surpass previous editions in organisation and turnout. They invite athletes, enthusiasts and stakeholders to join in making this the most impactful Ogun Women Run yet.
