PFIPC DG Admits Borrowing N100m to Secure Appointment, Lenders Report Him to EFCC

PFIPC DG Admits Borrowing N100m to Secure Appointment, Lenders Report Him to EFCC

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to head the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, says he borrowed N100 million to secure his appointment. He told Channels Television’s Politics Today that those who lent him the money have now petitioned the EFCC over repayment. The presidency insists the PFIPC does not exist and that Adeyemi was never appointed by the office of the Chief of Staff. President Tinubu has since directed the ICPC to investigate the controversy. Adeyemi dismissed allegations of a fake UN appointment as a smear campaign. He also denied plans to flee Nigeria, calling reports of asylum-seeking abroad unfounded.
