Ogun SUBEB and Evidence Action Expand School Deworming to Over 1 Million Pupils

The Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board has renewed its partnership with Evidence Action Nigeria to boost pupil health in public primary schools across the state. Board Chairman Evangelist Olalekan Ifede welcomed a delegation led by Dr. Olusola Adeoye. He praised the impact of regular deworming campaigns and teacher training on thousands of children’s well-being. Dr. Adeoye thanked the state government for supporting the programme since 2016. Senior Programme Manager Maryann Edeh noted that Ogun was the first state in Nigeria to join the large-scale school deworming initiative. More than one million pupils in Ogun have benefited so far. Evidence Action now reaches six million school-age children annually and also runs nutrition, malaria prevention and safe water projects.
