My ₦50,000 Transfer Stuck Between FirstBank and GTBank Over a Week – Need Help!

My ₦50,000 Transfer Stuck Between FirstBank and GTBank Over a Week – Need Help! — 1 of 2
1 / 2

On May 25, I sent ₦50,000 from my FirstBank account to my GTBank account. FirstBank debited me immediately and provided a NIBSS Session ID confirming the transaction. GTBank first acknowledged seeing the transfer in a “blank status” and opened a dispute ticket (Ref ID: 260601353720618). Yet days later, they claimed to have “no evidence” and told me to return to FirstBank. Now I’m stranded without cash and both banks are passing the buck. One of them holds my money. Please share any advice or contacts that could help resolve this dispute quickly.

Has anyone else experienced such a delay with NIBSS Session IDs between banks, or any tips to push a faster resolution?

Have you verified with each bank why the NIBSS session ID is still pending on their systems?

When exactly did you send the ₦50,000 so we can check timelines?

Sending multiple follow-ups without clear ticket details might just clog their system instead of speeding things up.

You could call the NIBSS support line or visit a branch with your ticket reference to get direct status update on the dispute.
