Ogun State Wrestlers Win Four Medals at 4th Governor Diri Wrestling Classics
The Chairman of the Ogun State Wrestling Association, Dr. Abimbola Babalola, has hailed the state’s wrestlers for their stellar showing at the 4th Governor Douye Diri Wrestling Classics in Bayelsa. He praised their resilience and discipline, saying the impressive medal haul underscores the growth of wrestling in Ogun State and the success of grassroots development programs. The team returned with four medals: Moniowolo Rokeebat (29kg) and Akindipe Oreoluwa (33kg) each claimed gold, Atere Kehinde secured silver in the 125kg category, and Muritala Aishat took bronze in the 36kg. Other participants also delivered strong performances. Dr. Babalola thanked Southwest Wrestling Chairman Mr. Akor Purity and head coach Badmus Adebayo for their unwavering support. He urged the athletes to remain focused and assured them of the Association’s continued backing.
