Awards Over Action: Etche LGA’s Distractions Fail Real Governance Needs
When the story of the current Etche LGA administration is told, one question stands out: why manage public perception instead of tackling real challenges? The chairman shifted from dancing spectacles to collecting award after award. Yet ordinary residents still struggle with worsening economic hardship, poor roads, and a lack of health centres. Awarding bodies should conduct independent visits. They need to talk with market women, unemployed youths, and struggling farmers to see conditions on the ground. Etche people deserve graded farm roads, economic opportunities, youth empowerment, and accountability—not more plaques and certificates.
