Navy Rescues Three Passengers After Sea Robbery Attack in Akwa Ibom
The Nigerian Navy rescued three passengers after suspected sea robbers attacked their boat in the Mbendoro waters of Akwa Ibom State. Personnel from Forward Operating Base Ibaka responded to a distress call during a night patrol at about 9:30 p.m. on July 29. The victims were travelling from Cameroon to Oron in a boat carrying tomatoes. The passengers were taken safely to the naval facility at Ibaka. The Navy said no injuries were recorded and that it will continue patrols to curb maritime crime in the area.
