NUJ Oyo Correspondents Forge Healthcare Partnership with NIKZAR Hospital
The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has begun talks with NIKZAR Hospital to improve journalists’ access to healthcare. Chapel leaders met hospital management to discuss collaboration on medical outreach programmes. Hospital representatives outlined how the partnership could work, covering outreach schedules, resource needs, and potential HMO arrangements. They stressed that while healthcare providers are profit-driven, community outreaches fall under their corporate social responsibility. Both parties agreed the hospital would lead medical outreach, while journalists would arrange venues. They also invited NIKZAR Hospital to participate in the chapel’s upcoming Press Week and to hold an initial outreach ahead of the event.
