Tony Elumelu to Chair Seplat Energy Board from January 2027

Seplat Energy Plc has announced that Tony O. Elumelu will become its next Chairman effective 1 January 2027. He will succeed Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, who retires on 31 December 2026. Elumelu joined the Seplat board in January 2026 and brings his experience as Founder and Chairman of Heirs Holdings, which holds a 20.07% stake in the company. His leadership is expected to guide Seplat’s next phase of growth on both the Nigerian Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. At the same time, Effiong Okon has been named Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director. Elumelu expressed gratitude for his predecessors’ stewardship and confidence in Okon’s industry expertise.
