Kwara Police Nab Five Kidnapping Suspects, Seize Homemade Rifle and Ammunition

The Kwara State Police Command arrested five suspected kidnappers following a coordinated operation on April 23 in Oke-Iya Community. The anti-kidnapping team acted on credible intelligence with support from local vigilantes and forest guards. Three suspects linked to the recent abduction in Idiya community were initially detained. Two kidnapped victims escaped, and further investigation led to the arrest of two additional suspects. Authorities recovered a locally fabricated revolver rifle adapted for AK-47 rounds and eight live AK-47 cartridges. The suspects will be charged to court after the investigation concludes.
