Africa Magic has announced the 12th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, following a press briefing at the MultiChoice Studio in Ilupeju, Lagos. Since its debut in 2013, the AMVCAs have become one of Africa’s premier entertainment events. Over the years, the awards have generated more than 30,000 jobs across production design, screenwriting, sound engineering and related fields. This edition expands the Indigenous Language categories with new awards for North and Central Africa. Nominations will be revealed live on March 29, and the gala will feature 32 awards: 18 judged by a panel, 11 voted on by viewers and three special recognitions. Veteran actress Joke Silva has been appointed Head Judge. Atinuke Babatunde of MultiChoice West Africa highlighted the awards’ focus on the entire creative ecosystem. The 12th AMVCA is headlined by Don Julio, with support from several leading sponsors.
