Man United Open Talks for Chelsea Midfielder Andrey Santos

Man United Open Talks for Chelsea Midfielder Andrey Santos — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Manchester United have begun discussions with Chelsea over a potential move for Brazil talent Andrey Santos. The Red Devils are keen to bolster their midfield after Casemiro’s departure at season’s end. United’s summer rebuild has already seen a £35m deal agreed for Atalanta’s Ederson. They had also targeted Manuel Ugarte, but the Uruguay international will remain at his current club following a World Cup injury. Chelsea’s Santos, 22, has made just 47 appearances since joining in 2023 and spent two loan spells out. Despite glimpses of his talent, he sits behind Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez in Stamford Bridge’s pecking order.

Could Santos really step into Casemiro's role at United, or will the rebuild need more reshaping to succeed next season?

Has Santos shown enough defensive grit at Chelsea to match United's midfield demands next season?

It's interesting that United are discussing Santos while already spending heavily on midfield targets this summer window.

I'm not convinced he'll adapt quickly enough to Premier League intensity, especially after a big transfer fee is involved.

United should ensure they integrate him alongside existing midfielders strategically, balancing creativity and defensive stability from the first game.
