Dangote Refinery Poised to Supply Nigeria and Africa Amid Middle East Crisis
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote has confirmed that his refinery in Lagos is operating at full capacity and can meet fuel needs across Nigeria and the wider continent despite disruptions from Middle East tensions. The facility now processes 650,000 barrels per day and has shipped 17 gasoline cargoes to African nations facing shortages. It also produces up to three million metric tonnes of urea fertilizer annually, with recent exports shifting focus toward regional markets. Despite rising global crude prices pushing domestic fuel costs higher, Dangote expressed confidence that sourcing more crude in local currency will help stabilize prices for Nigerian consumers.
