Cucurella Admits Barcelona Offer Would Be Hard to Turn Down

Cucurella Admits Barcelona Offer Would Be Hard to Turn Down — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella has hinted he would find a move back to Barcelona tough to refuse. He told reporters during the international break that an approach from his boyhood club would be hard to ignore, even as he and his family remain happy in London for now. His remarks add fuel to transfer speculation, especially after teammate Enzo Fernández publicly expressed a desire to play in Madrid. Cucurella’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs until 2028 and comes with a significant financial package. The 27-year-old defender spent his youth at Barcelona’s La Masia academy and made a brief senior appearance during their 2017–18 Copa del Rey campaign. Since his €65 million move to Chelsea in 2022, he has cemented his place as Spain’s first-choice left-back and attracted interest from his former club.

How do fans feel about Cucurella possibly leaving Chelsea for Barcelona? Would you still back him if he decides to go?

No shock he'd be tempted by Barca, but I'll keep shouting his name whether he stays or moves.

I feel that—he's been loyal on the pitch. I'd back him even in Barcelona.

He says his family is happy in London, but is comfort here enough to outweigh a chance to return home to Barcelona?

I'm not convinced a move back to Barca grants him guaranteed success or more playing time than he has at Chelsea right now.

Chelsea should start identifying a reliable left-back option and line up potential replacements in case Cucurella really decides to leave next season.
