Ondo Police Crack Car Theft Ring, Recover Stolen Toyota Camry

The Ondo State Police Command announced the arrest of two suspects in Akure and the recovery of a stolen Toyota Camry. The operation followed a report by Robert Adeyemi, who discovered his vehicle missing after attending a social event on February 14. Detectives used intelligence-led strategies to trace the Camry to Awolo Akingbade, who admitted possession. He led officers to the principal suspect, David Adeyemi, who allegedly sold the car. Both men have been charged with conspiracy, stealing, and receiving stolen property. Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal praised the officers’ professionalism. He urged residents to stay vigilant and continue providing credible information to help combat crime in the state.

It's interesting the police highlighted recovery of the Camry from that social event report, but they didn't mention any similar cases.

Arresting only two suspects seems limited, given how car theft rings usually run by multiple members in various roles.
