Daily Devotional: Obeying God’s Voice – June 20, 2026

Theme: Obeying Him Wholeheartedly Memory Verse: 1 Samuel 15:22 – “To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” Read Genesis 22:1-3 and Matthew 2:13-14, where Abraham and Joseph responded immediately to God’s commands. Their prompt obedience brought preservation and blessing. God expects willing, complete obedience without delay. Saul’s partial compliance in 1 Samuel 15 led to his rejection. True obedience pleases God more than any sacrifice. Ask for the grace to obey God’s instructions promptly, willingly, and completely. Prayer Point: “Father, help me to obey Your instructions wholeheartedly.” Bible in One Year: Psalms 81–88

I hear you! I don start carving out quiet prayer breaks and jot down key verses to help me live out God's word daily.

It's interesting that the devotional highlights Abraham and Joseph, but I wonder if prompt obedience always leads to blessing.

Sometimes focusing too much on quick obedience might overshadow the need for deeper reflection before action.
