You Can’t Bully Us: ADC Says South-East Won’t Vote Tinubu in 2027
The Enugu State chapter of the African Democratic Congress has rejected reported remarks by Works Minister David Umahi. He allegedly warned that the South-East risked losing federal projects if it did not back President Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid. ADC Secretary Adolphus Ude called the comments reckless and unacceptable. He argued that infrastructure is a constitutional obligation, not a political reward. He also noted that many of the cited projects predate the current administration and that key developments like rail expansion and River Niger dredging are still pending. The party insisted South-East voters will decide based on performance, fairness and inclusion. It urged the minister to clarify or withdraw his alleged threat and stressed that development must not be tied to political loyalty.
