Enugu Governor Inspects Recovered ESN Arsenal, Praises Security Agencies

Enugu Governor Inspects Recovered ESN Arsenal, Praises Security Agencies — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Governor Mbah on Friday visited the DSS headquarters in Enugu. He inspected a cache of weapons seized from the outlawed Eastern Security Network. The haul included a rocket launcher, RPG warheads and chargers, 11 AK-47 rifles and over 610 rounds of ammunition. He commended the DSS, Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police for their teamwork. He said their diligence prevented ESN terrorists from unleashing attacks across the South. He also lauded President Tinubu’s support in tackling insecurity. Security sources revealed the raid followed intelligence from arrested ESN members. It halted planned attacks on Enugu and other Southeast states. Just two days earlier, a Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced five bandits to 25 years each over the 2025 Papiri school abduction, following separate DSS operations.
