1,176 Years of Igbo History: From 850 AD Bronze Age to 2026 Repatriation
This series traces over a millennium of Igbo heritage through archaeological finds, early European records, colonial maps, and modern restitution efforts. It begins with the 850 AD Igbo-Ukwu bronze artifacts and follows the first written mention of "Ibo" in a 1505 Portuguese record. Later chapters cover Dutch and British cartography, the establishment of an Ibo printing press, the Aro Expedition’s destruction and looting, and ongoing campaigns to reclaim stolen cultural treasures. Each chapter offers dates, sources, and context to prove our uninterrupted presence and support the demand for the return of our artifacts. Respectful discussion only—no insults or politics, just historical evidence.
