FCTA Launches Ten-Day Promotion Exercise for Over 13,000 Civil Servants

The Federal Capital Territory Administration has kicked off a ten-day promotion exercise for more than 13,000 civil servants across 150 grades and cadres. Approved by the FCT Minister under the Renewed Hope Agenda, the exercise runs from July 1 for both FCTA and FCDA staff. The Minister has also directed that the 2026 promotions be completed before year end to give eligible officers timely career growth. Arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth, computer-based process. Participants are urged to remain patient throughout the exercise.

What kind of impact do you think this ten-day promotion exercise will have on staff morale in FCTA and FCDA?

I'm all for it—those promotions will inject fresh enthusiasm and maybe even some friendly competition among staff.

It's interesting that over 13,000 civil servants across 150 grades are included, but nothing about the actual criteria for promotion is mentioned.

I trust the Renewed Hope Agenda, but this rush for ten days almost feels too short for thorough reviews, abeg.

FCTA and FCDA staff should ensure their records are up to date before heading to designated offices, and double check any outstanding requirements early.
