Keyamo: ADC Factions Can’t Bluff Their Way Out of a Legal Battle

The ADC faction aligned with David Mark relies on emotion to dodge a legal challenge they created. But the law does not admit sentiment. It demands facts, evidence and proper interpretation of statutes. Arguing over ‘status quo ante bellum’ misses the real issue. INEC’s temporary recognition of either group is irrelevant while a takeover case before the court remains unresolved. If the dispute persists past the nomination deadline, the party risks fielding no candidate for the election. Rather than criticising INEC, the ADC should welcome its timely derecognition of both sides. This move highlights the danger ahead. It gives the party a chance to find a risk-free platform, seek an accelerated court hearing or quickly settle its leadership dispute.

Focusing on philosophical terms like 'status quo ante bellum' does distract from the stricter demand for statutes and tangible proof.

I'm not convinced that emotion has no role in legal arguments; some cases hinge on public sentiment and moral pressure.

Rather than debating terms, ADC factions should compile solid exhibits, case law precedents, and clear statutory references to strengthen their position.
