Securing the Tomb: Matthew 27:62-66
After Jesus’ crucifixion, the chief priests and Pharisees reminded Pilate of Jesus’ claim to rise again on the third day. Fearing the disciples might steal the body and spread rumours of resurrection, they asked for the tomb to be tightly sealed and guarded. Pilate agreed, and a seal was placed on the stone as soldiers stood watch.
