Francis Onyeka Poised for Bundesliga Loan at SV Elversberg

Francis Onyeka Poised for Bundesliga Loan at SV Elversberg

Francis Onyeka is close to finalising a loan move to newly promoted SV Elversberg ahead of the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. Transfer expert Florian Plettenberg reports that Bayer Leverkusen and Elversberg are in advanced talks. Onyeka impressed last season at VfL Bochum in Bundesliga 2, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in 30 league appearances. Elversberg believe the 19-year-old forward fits their attacking style and can boost their squad in Germany’s top flight. Born in Germany to a Nigerian father, Onyeka has also represented Germany at U-17 level and is set for his first taste of Bundesliga football.

Bochum saw him impress in fits and starts, but stepping into a newly promoted side could expose gaps in his consistency.

Given these talks are advanced, Onyeka should focus on fitness and understanding Elversberg's tactics to hit the ground running.
