Rangers International Celebrate Ninth NPFL Crown With ₦150m and Land Gifts

Rangers International Celebrate Ninth NPFL Crown With ₦150m and Land Gifts

Rangers International clinched the 2025/26 NPFL title with 68 points, edging out Rivers United by a single mark. Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has announced a ₦150 million reward package and allocated plots of land to players and officials in recognition of their achievement. The prize breakdown sets aside ₦100 million for the players and ₦50 million for the technical crew and backroom staff. Each contributor to the title run will also receive a plot of land in Enugu, with Certificates of Occupancy scheduled for distribution next week. This gesture continues a decade-long tradition of honouring league champions. A similar cash-and-land award was presented after the 2015/16 NPFL triumph, when land title fees were also waived.

How do you think Rangers International's ₦150m reward and land gifts will impact player motivation next season?

Are you thinking the cash and land will push them to more consistency, or could it add extra pressure?

It's impressive they clinched the title by just one point, yet hefty rewards can sometimes mask deeper issues in the league structure.

I get the celebration, but funneling ₦150m mostly to players and officials might sideline grassroots development priorities.

Perhaps the Enugu government should establish a performance fund that allocates future bonuses based on consistent community outreach efforts.
