Petit Proposes Chelsea Swap: Enzo Fernandez for Eduardo Camavinga

Petit Proposes Chelsea Swap: Enzo Fernandez for Eduardo Camavinga — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Former Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit believes the club should consider trading Enzo Fernandez for Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga. Petit pointed to Fernandez’s unsettled situation in London and Camavinga’s uncertain role at Madrid as reasons why a swap could benefit both sides. Reports suggest Real Madrid might command €50–80 million for the young French midfielder. Speaking to a media outlet, Petit said Camavinga’s experience at top level would add leadership to Chelsea’s youthful squad. He warned that keeping an unhappy Fernandez could be damaging and insisted the World Cup winner should be allowed to move on if he really wants to leave.

It's surprising that Petit overlooks how Camavinga's role at Madrid has also been inconsistent this season.

I'm not convinced a direct swap addresses deeper tactical mismatches within Chelsea's setup and playing style.

Chelsea might benefit more by scouting a creative midfielder in January instead of risking a complex big-name exchange.
