Chelsea Kick Off €150m Pursuit of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen

Chelsea Kick Off €150m Pursuit of Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Chelsea have reportedly opened negotiations with Galatasaray to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer. The 27-year-old was left out of the Super Eagles squad for upcoming friendlies amid transfer talk, a claim he denies calling “taken out of context.” Interest remains strong from several Premier League clubs, with Manchester United also linked. Galatasaray are said to value Osimhen at around €150 million, double the fee they paid Napoli last year. He scored 15 league goals and provided 5 assists as the Turkish champions defended their title. Incoming manager Xabi Alonso reportedly views Osimhen as his top attacking target. It remains to be seen how far Chelsea will go to secure the final deal.

That's spot on, investing €150m for Osimhen would add serious pace and power to Chelsea's frontline.

Spending €150m on a 27-year-old forward feels risky, especially with his recent exclusion from the Super Eagles squad.

Putting that much faith in a single striker overlooks how Chelsea's midfield laboured last season.

Pre-season training must focus on building chemistry between Osimhen and existing attackers for seamless transition.
