Manager Gave Me a Referral to Another Company – Should I Be Worried?
I’m three months into my role at a mainland FMCG firm. There was no formal training, so I’ve been learning on the job. Despite my efforts, my GM felt my output fell short. Last month I was moved from the island branch I managed to head office for retraining. The plan was to send me back afterward. Tonight, my line manager handed me a referral number and asked me to call his friend at another company for a similar position. With the economy as it is, I’m anxious. Is this a sign they’re preparing to let me go, or a genuine opportunity? Should I wait and see or tender my resignation and hunt for something new? I’d appreciate any advice or experiences you can share.
