Kwara Police Deny Arrest of Boko Haram Suspects, Confirm Routine Stop in Ilorin
Kwara State Police Command has dismissed social media claims that suspected Boko Haram members were arrested in Ilorin. The report arose from a routine stop-and-search of a truck carrying Fulani travellers through the state capital. No Boko Haram suspect was found. The travellers were thoroughly screened, documented, and escorted safely to Jigawa State. The command warned that spreading unverified security information undermines peace and causes unnecessary fear. In a separate operation, officers from the Violent Crime Response Unit arrested three suspected robbers and vandals near Asa Dam and Dangote Road. Recovered items included two locally fabricated pistols, pliers, and substances suspected to be hard drugs. Investigations suggest links to a wider criminal network.
