Nasarawa Police Launch Statewide Show of Force Ahead of Campaigns

The Nasarawa State Police Command says it will begin continuous show-of-force operations across the state on Monday ahead of political campaigns scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 19. The operation will begin in the Southern Senatorial District before extending to the Northern and Western districts. Police and other security agencies will be deployed to entry and exit routes, strategic locations and other critical areas. Commissioner of Police Shetima Mohammed said officers will conduct stop-and-search operations to prevent the movement of criminal elements, weapons and prohibited items. He said the exercise is not targeted at any individual, political party or group. Residents have been urged to remain calm, cooperate with security personnel and report suspicious activity.
