1 / 8

Voting concluded across Ekiti State in the governorship election. Foreign observer group Nouvelle Perspective scored the process highly. Monitors deployed to all 16 local government areas described the exercise as peaceful and orderly. They noted strong security presence and a high turnout of voters. Hon. Jim Okolo, national coordinator of Nouvelle Perspective, praised INEC, security agencies and citizens for a smooth process. He called the poll a litmus test for next year’s general elections. Results collation will begin soon at the INEC headquarters and the group will issue a full report on its findings at the conclusion of the election.
