Activist Omoyele Sowore has thrown his weight behind Aisha Yesufu’s bid for the FCT Senate seat in 2027. In a recent television interview, he urged fellow activists to enter politics, calling it the greatest form of activism needed to transform society. While pledging his support, Sowore criticised Yesufu’s party choice. “She’s in the wrong party,” he said, insisting she would be better off on his platform. Yesufu resigned from the African Democratic Congress to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress under Peter Obi’s leadership. She confirmed her intention to contest the FCT senatorial seat and assured supporters of a smooth transition from her former party.
