Tuggar Foundation Rejects Abubakar’s APC Governorship Declaration in Bauchi — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Yusuf Tuggar Foundation has rejected Mohammed Abubakar's claim as the APC’s 2027 Bauchi governorship candidate. Secretary Shehu Ningi said the declaration was self-made, with no official party announcement. Abubakar was declared winner with 57,517 votes, while Yusuf Tuggar scored 26,001 and other aspirants trailed behind. On June 2, the foundation appealed to APC leaders. They highlighted missing primaries, the rotation principle and risks to party unity.

It's curious that Abubakar claims victory with 57,517 votes while the official party hasn't even endorsed a candidate yet.

I'm not convinced we should dismiss Abubakar's numbers so quickly; perhaps the foundation is protecting its own interests here.

Party members should demand transparent communication from APC leaders in Bauchi before investing time or resources into any candidate.
