Uniting Behind Our Leaders: A New Approach to Nigeria’s Challenges
I’ve studied Nigeria’s history since independence and noticed a striking trend: every president has faced mass protests. From Tafawa Balewa to Tinubu, Nigerians have always called for a leader’s removal rather than focusing on progress. Demanding good governance is important, but endless protests only cycle through leaders without solving our core issues. We’ve seen coups, corruption scandals, policy failures and unrest at every turn. Yet once a president is gone, the next administration faces the same backlash. The real problem lies with the cabals influencing our politics and our own impatience. Instead of rejecting each leader outright, we should unite to support the sitting president and hold them accountable to deliver tangible results. If we work with the government in power, we stand a better chance of real progress. Let’s shift from constant opposition to constructive engagement and make our collective voice drive positive change.
