IOC Bars Transgender Women and DSD Athletes from Women’s Events at LA 2028

The International Olympic Committee has confirmed that transgender women will be excluded from women’s events at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. In a statement, the IOC said the updated eligibility policy aims to protect fairness, safety and integrity in female competition. The 10-page policy also restricts athletes with differences in sex development, including two-time Olympic champion Caster Semenya. These rules will apply when the Games open in July 2028.
