ICPC to Arraign Ex-Kaduna Governor El-Rufai Over Money Laundering and Abuse of Office

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) will arraign former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Joel Adoga at the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. The case, filed under suit number FHC/KD/73/2026, carries charges of conversion and possession of public property and money laundering. A separate suit against El-Rufai and Amadu Sule has been filed at the Kaduna State High Court under case number KDH/KAD/ICPC/01/26. This charge covers abuse of office, fraud, intent to commit fraud, and conferring undue advantage. Both actions were instituted on 18 March 2026. The ICPC confirms that El-Rufai has been duly served and reaffirms its commitment to due process and the rule of law.
