The Seventh Trumpet: God’s Eternal Reign Begins (Revelation 11:15-19)

This passage describes the sounding of the seventh trumpet in heaven. Loud voices proclaim that the world’s kingdom now belongs to the Lord and his Messiah, and that he will reign forever. The twenty-four elders fall in worship and thank God for taking up his power and beginning his reign. They note that nations were angry and that the time has come for judging the dead and rewarding God’s servants. Finally, God’s heavenly temple opens, revealing the ark of his covenant amid flashes of lightning, rumblings, thunder, an earthquake, and a severe hailstorm.
